Musical drafts and score drafts.Comments: Three double sheets of handwritten scores (in ink). The first sheet on the front side comprises a piano part, which is titled "Parodos". On the back there is an excerpt from an orchestral score. The second sheet is probably a piano score, but we do not know from which part of the play. The third sheet includes a part from an orchestral score. The instruments listed are: flute, oboe clarinet, drums. Just below there is the indication "Finale" with some notes regarding the succession of the musical parts.
Adaptation for voice and piano.Comments: M. Theodorakis usually signs - at the end of each part -.In all parts of the adaptation, there are adaptations of the place and date of composition of the music of the play, e.g. "Second stop: Paris 6-I-61, Side Parodos: Paris 19-II-61 and 20-II-61, Third stop: Paris 23-II-61".At the end of the Kommos, according to the composer’s handwritten note, there is the following dedication: "Kommos for the death of Patrice Lumumba" (he was assassinated on January 17th, 1961, while he was the first democratically elected prime minister of the Republic of Congo and a leading figure in the struggle against colonialism in Africa).
