Musical guide
Comments: The musical guide contains instructions for introducing music to the various parts of the play (acts, scenes, images, etc.).
There are some suggestions for orchestration, for "solo" instruments that interpret musical motifs, as well as for the duration of musical interventions in various scenes of the play.
The guide also includes some (preliminary) musical excerpts, such as No. 13 of the musical structure, the introduction of Act 3 and a rhythmic motif for tambourine at the end of Act II.
After Act III, the guide includes a page of stave with the following - often indistinct - instructions for the ghost's two entrances and exits: "1st mask: first appearance of ghost (motif) - exit 2nd appearance (motif) - exit 2nd mask: entrance of king (from far away) fanfare Ghost entrance Hamlet sequence to ghost (cello) "Hail" 3 times: with Trumpet Ghost exit"
